Issues You Should Pay Attention to in Control Panels Where You Use Motor Drivers and Analog Sensors

We use motor drivers in motion control applications that require speed adjustment. When choosing the motor drivers we will use, we have to pay attention not only to the power values and whether they work with the control method we want to use, but also to the filter features.

Especially in systems where analog sensors are used, electrical disturbances caused by drivers cause errors in the data we want to read from the sensors. What we want to read from analog sensors is pressure, speed, distance, etc. Corruptions in information may render the system inoperable. It may cause irreversible accidents.

Emc filter classification is one of the first points to be considered when choosing a driver. Even if you do not use analog measuring devices in your application, if they are used in other machines and equipment in the same field, they may cause malfunctions in those devices and wrong solutions may be applied. We find it beneficial to carry out these studies beforehand in order to prevent such situations.

When making cable connections, shielded cables should be chosen inside and outside the panel for the motor cables used for the drivers. The trays and channels where these cables are run must be separate from the trays and channels where analog sensors are run. Analog sensors should also have shielded cables. Shields must be grounded within the panel. If possible, motor and sensor grounding should be done separately.

If the driver cables are not shielded, it may cause errors in PLC and HMI connections. If you are experiencing errors such as constant disconnections in Computer-PLC, Computer-HMI or PLC-HMI connections, or the USB port not recognizing the devices, we first recommend that you check the noises in the environment.
